A different way to start.

Thinking and planning for the future can be overwhelming. I mean come on just a few weeks ago it was 2025. Can we really begin to make changes so quickly? The answer is, yes we can!

I want you to take a moment and remove all pressure to have a clear vision for the year. Although it feels great knowing what’s to come in the next few moments, days, weeks or months, you can also have peace and joy in the unknown.

Knowing that yearly vision boards give me anxiety, I decided to opt out of it and take a different approach. I began to make small changes in my routines. I will be sharing these on other platforms! It has been a game changer for me. I want to share one of a few changes I made. Reading the bible. I began to think about my relationship with God and how far I have come by just reading the bible occasionally and realized it is not enough.

Now this hasn’t been easy. I started to notice, quickly, that in those moments where I was dedicated to set time apart, I easily became distracted. Phone rings, sleepiness taking over, “important” errands that cannot wait, scrolling on social media for hours then whoops gotta go to bed! I mean c’mon God wants me to wake up energized for work doesn’t he? Yes it is true, but he also wants you to be ready to face whatever comes your way with his truth.

If you have been feeling the same way about strengthening your relationship with God by learning more about the history and all these fascinating events, I challenge you to make time in your schedule and space in your heart.

If you are unsure about this or it wasn’t part of your plan, it is OK!! I just want to remind you that you have direct access to the source of life. God patiently waits and he’ll never stop knocking at the door of your heart.

I purchased a book called The Bible Simplified by Zach Windahl. It has been such a great tool in understanding and applying the truth of God in your daily walk.

It is important to understand that the bible is not written to you but for you.

When you get to know more about the authors, their audience and the cultural norms of when it was written you have a better understanding on how to apply it to your life today.

“Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.”

I want you to begin the year differently with me. Let’s seek for understanding like searching for hidden treasures. I am ready to open and see what I find. Come and join me!

Sincerely,
Intentional Grace
